Continue the Story

Post by Cecila on Fri Aug 21, 2015 12:27 am

Easy concept!  Continue the story any way you like in three paragraphs or less!  Just keep it going from where the last person left off.

When you add on, repost the entire story so far, so that we have a complete story within your post.  Even better if you change the color of your addition!

I'll start us off.

In terms of games, Celery was a talented girl.  She loved all types, from board, to card, to computer, and she could win.  It was a minor obsession, to the point that Celery found herself hoarding dozens of them, the physical copies taking up her room, and the virtual ones her hard drive.

But one of her games stood out from the rest, a particularly old looking boxed set carved from what was once driftwood. On it, strange markings and words she couldn't begin to pronounce, save for three, scrabbled across the top in clumsy, haphazard lettering; "Can Not Win." were the sole english words, carved by stressed hands now forgotten.

Where the box had originally come from, Celery did not know.  She'd found it in a local antique store and just had to claim it, and with its $5 price tag, had virtually no excuse.  As she stepped toward it, she let her hands run over the cold, dry wood, and finally allowed herself to pry it open.
